The first thing that took my breath away when flying into El Calafate was the colour of the water – milky green water against a dry barren terrain was like nothing I had seen before.
Patagonia is rugged, wild, has an icy strong wind blowing off the Andean mountains and is the kind of place that dwarfs you with its vast landscape. It is located in the wilds of the southern most part of South America between Argentina and Chile and is home to the Southern end of the Andes mountains.
Jagged snow capped peaks, spectacular ice glaciers and hiking are all part of the drawcard and I have to say that for me, after two months of travelling through South America, so far, it is still right up there with the best of them. The ice glaciers are breathtaking, the water is a milky green colour and the ice glaciers an iridescent blue, it is peacefully quiet and the sound of a wall of ice cracking off the glacier into the river below is amazing.
Add it to your lifetime must see list because it really is something you have to see just once.

Accommodation // We stayed at La Cantera Boutique Hotel and it was fabulous.
Favourite Meal// Mi Rancho – ate here twice, it was that good.
Don’t miss // Visiting Glacier Perito Merino from all angles.

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.” | Audrey Hepburn

Just two short months ago I got married to my favourite person, and I loved every single second of the wedding day. I only said to my brand new husband the other day that we should do it again. He suggested just a really good party instead. I agreed that this was probably a better idea.
A very special friend of mine is marrying her magical man friend this weekend and I just know it will the most perfect day.
So here is a big delightful cheers to the soon to be Mr & mrs Kenny.

I love nothing more than tasting my way around the world. I love trying out different countries specialties and experiencing fabulous restaurants here, there and everywhere… However it has been two whole months without cooking much of anything and I am definitely missing the fresh, organic products of home.
Here is a little healthy dinner inspiration that will be on my dinner table when I have my hot little hands in my own kitchen again.

I am extremely lucky and grateful to be spending the most part of 2014 doing something that I absolutely love to do, and that is travelling. This year I will be seeing just the tiniest part of this gigantic home we call the world, experiencing new cultures, sights, tastes, art, architecture and having a whole lot of fun in the process.
In January I married my forever love (and had the most fun possible in a single day) and a week later we were on a plane, with our bags packed and our hearts full of anticipation. Our first stop was beautiful Buenos Aires, Argentina.
This was the perfect starting place for our big adventure as this gorgeous city had such a familiar feel to it while still being exotic and unlike any other place I have ever visited, there was the lush green areas, the rundown areas, the beautiful colonial architecture, shopping and pet dogs being walked (with a thousand other dogs and one dog walker) galore!
We stayed in super hip Palermo, hired free bikes to explore the city, went antiquing in San Telmo (antique chandeliers of absolute crazy amounts of amazement) and ate like crazy.
The Argentinians eat dinner late, like crazy late and so breakfast is served late aswell, this took some adjusting but we got into the swing of it by the time we left. Buenos Aires is definitely a night owls paradise.
The details:
Accommodation: We stayed in a cute as Air Bnb apartment in Palermo for 5 nights and then the Savoy on our return for 1 night.
Favourite meal: La Cabrera, Palermo
Don’t Miss: San Telmo antique market on a Sunday

It was a seriously good time.
